Role Description:

*LOCATION - Remote from home anywhere in N. America - travel up to 50% to client locations

*seeking someone that is a super user/has trained folks on of Banner Financial Aid OR someone that has implemented Banner Financial Aid

  • Act as a thought leader for our Banner Financial Aid implementations, able to lead and influence client teams at all levels.

  • Provide advice and guidance on industry best practices and best practices for implementing Banner Financial Aid in the US and potentially abroad, working with leadership and staff in colleges and universities to ensure the Banner Financial Aid solution is implemented & configured to best align to institutional processes and academic and business needs.

  • Support customers in making a smooth transition from their existing financial aid systems or processes, applications, and processes to Banner Financial Aid processes through implementation efforts and, where appropriate ongoing consulting. Providing change management advice as appropriate.

  • Perform and document business process review and analysis of client business requirements. Gather and document business requirements, discuss adoption of financial aid best practices, and brief the implementation team on requirements.

  • Work collaboratively with clients to derive maximum value from the Banner Financial Aid solution, in conjunction with all other Ellucian solutions.

  • Collaborate with existing Financial Aid consulting resources to work towards a continuous improvement approach to the consulting practice: refine delivery and engagement materials, facilitate team-wide group presentations and knowledge-sharing activities, and other team activities that drive towards the continuous improvement of the delivery of financial aid services.

  • Take active role in identifying, communicating, and advancing internal process improvement suggestions/initiatives.

  • Participate in Ellucian company-wide cross-departmental initiatives as required.

  • As an experienced consultant on the Ellucian team, ability to act as a role model for other more junior consultants.

  • At least 5-7 years, preferably more, experience working in field of financial aid. Role(s) in financial aid field should have demonstrated deep understanding of financial aid federal regulations and practices at an accredited institution of higher education in the United States or abroad. Roles with increasing levels of responsibility and oversight are particularly preferred.

  • At least 1-3 years, preferably more, experience working in a client facing consulting environment.

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • Must have experience with Banner or other Ellucian or competitor student information systems.

  • Must have the ability to explain solutions to diverse customers, and ensure they are able to use applications and functionality effectively to accomplish their work.

  • This position requires enthusiasm and energy; willingness to learn and adapt quickly; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and previous experience conducting training sessions.

  • The successful candidate must be a disciplined self-starter, able to work on multiple projects concurrently, and must be able to meet or exceed deadlines for customer and internal deliverables.

  • The successful candidate must also be able to collaborate effectively and willingly and must be an engaged and interactive member of a large and very experienced team.

  • Proven Ability to use appropriate skills in the areas of: project coordination, multi-tasking, prioritization of demands, conflict management, decision making tools & techniques, group discussion, training, facilitation, decision-making, communication, and time management.

  • Demonstrated experience in consulting and/or training and development; system implementation, and requirements gathering is beneficial.

  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills with demonstrably credibility and experience in the subject matter, as well as gravitas to influence senior client stakeholders at client site and industry events.

  • Proven Ability to work independently or as part of a remote team.
