  • Responsible for performing microbiological testing of cGMP controlled areas, pharmaceutical grade water, and in-process materials in compliance with cGMP guidelines and SOPs

  • Environmental monitoring of cGMP controlled areas

  • Total particulate count monitoring of controlled areas

  • Sampling and testing of pharmaceutical grade water

  • Microbial and fungal identifications

  • Growth promotion

  • Bioburden testing

  • Biological Indicator testing

  • Gown qualification

  • Accurate and thorough documentation

  • Proficiently perform all qualified testing methods used by the Microbiology department

  • It is each employee’s responsibility to perform their work properly and ensure a product or service meets the current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) requirements for Safety, Identity, Strength, Purity, and Quality. It is each employee’s responsibility to immediately report observations regarding anything that deviates from established standards to their supervisor and to the Quality function.

Associate’s degree in microbiology, biology, or other relevant scientific discipline and 0-3 years of related lab experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Open to entry level candidates with the right educational background. Prior experience and/or training in a laboratory setting will be very beneficial.

Familiarity with SOPs and cGMP guidelines and regulations are a plus.

Aseptic gowning certification desired.

  • Environment: Be able to work in GMP lab areas as well as Manufacturing and R&D environments. Potential exposure to human blood, serum, and tissues. Repetitive motions are involved.

  • Physical: Be able to lift up to 25 lbs. and climb ladders for sampling tasks.
