Work You ll DoTheAssociate Vice President Research Execution and Methods willoversees the development of the research underpinning Bersin s insights and will be on point for leading the continued evolution of Bersin s research capability. This personwilldrive the quality of our research efforts with effective research methodologies and analysis techniques, as well as expanding our thinking beyond traditional research methods. This person is an experienced researchmethodologist. S/heensures both consistent excellence in research today and innovation in research methods and products tomorrow. This individual will be the primary steward of Bersin s collected data sets, helping to maintain quality, consistency, and long term viability, as well as an innovator in using data sets from other Deloitte Human Capital products to generate insights. S/he will play a crucial role in our ability to leverage increasing value from our data from both the creation of research assets and in support of new data-driven products such automated dashboards, diagnostics, and assessment tools. The role collaborates closely with the heads of Research Ideation (which sets the Insights agenda) and Content Delivery (which creates the assets that highlight Bersin s insights). The right candidate for this role will have the ability to lead a global team in conducting in-depth data analysis and articulating the story that the data tells. The AVP will act as a team leader and coach to members of the overall research team when needed, and will formally manage several resources dedicated to research support. In addition, s/he will personally oversee, and often times fulfill, on complex market research studies. More broadly, this person will be part of the team that works with our Product Management team in the development and maintenance of data-driven products and services. This person may also provide cross-functional leadership on internal projects, both within Bersin and with Deloitte Human Capital Consulting. Responsibilities:Research Responsibilities:Lead a global team on all aspects of research design, administration, and analysis.Develop scalable practices, processes and capabilities to expand Bersin s research capacity, speed and impact.Continually innovate onquantitative and qualitative methods, tools, policies, and procedures.Oversee best practice related to all research data, past and present, in order to maximize quality and business potential.Participate in the development of research-based tools for members and to support consulting solutions.Insights Department ResponsibilitiesContribute to the continuous evolution of the Insights Team practices and processes to identify, investigate and deliver cutting-edge insights to a fast-moving market.Work with analysts and content experts to turn data into actionable insights. Identify areas for cross-practice collaboration.Promote leading practice standards and provide hands-on expertise for conducting research across the HR spectrum.Lead governance of the use of research data across Bersin products and services. Assist in advocating best use across the wider Deloitte ecosystem.Interface directly with corresponding Deloitte Consulting leadership to align research methodologies.Client-Facing ActivitiesRepresent research rigor and innovation as well as data quality and integrity to our members and to the general public.Respond to complex member calls with senior-level practitioners and answer strategic methodology-based questions.Promote a personal and company brand that sets our research apart from our competitors.Work with the marketing and sales teams to help position products and solutions to prospects. Research Design and Data CollectionDevelop quantitative and qualitative methods, tools, policies, and procedures.Advise on all aspects of research design, administration, and analysis, coaching researchers as needed.Work with analysts, content experts, and target audiences to develop, test and implement data collection methods and tools.Oversee data collection for large-scale projects.Manage data processing including data cleaning, recoding, weighting, and analysis.Provide analysis and key insights to support analysts in the creation of reports, tools, and presentations.Manage research suppliers when necessary.Manage Bersin s overall survey timeline, ensuring that studies have a regular cadence and respondents are not overburdened with frequent survey requests.Research InnovationDrive future methodological growth and process improvement, increasing our effectiveness, efficiency, and utility to our members.Stay current on the leading edge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.Investigate new advances in business research methods and tools.Introduce new methods, tools, and concepts to the team where warranted and advantageous.Evaluate our current methods and our application of those methods. Continuously looking for ways to improve.Data StewardshipOversee best practice related to all research data, past and present, in order to maximize quality and business potential.Lead governance of research data across Bersin products and services. Assist in advocating best use across the Deloitte ecosystem.Ensure that all data collected meets quality standards.Steward a common data dictionary for Bersin Research.
