Position Summary This position combines the art of UX/UI design with frontend development. This person will be responsible for conceptualizing interfaces, turning ideas into working prototypes, and creating and then transforming design mockups into user interfaces. This position will create code for various web-based applications and ensure that code integrates seamlessly with backend systems and other technologies to achieve business goals. This person will also be hands on with creative tasks, building out homepages, landing pages, microsites and other digital projects as necessary- serving as the bridge between design and technical implementation and taking an active role in defining how the application looks as well as how it works. This role serves as a connection point between IT, Ecommerce & Creative partners and will co-own the final product, will advise on technical issues, and will find solutions to technical and usability challenges.
Accountabilities •Create engaging wireframes and user-focused visual designs with best in class UI/UX design in mind
•Turn those wireframes into webpages and applications through hands-on development, including the development of HTML/CSS and the implementation of commercial and open source web technologies
•Enter HTML/CSS into webstore CMS and verify it looks/works as expected
•Good understanding on Selectors, Events, AJAX and DOM (Document object model) manipulation using components in Angular 2 for updating content on DOM nodes.
•Turn Photoshop files into animated, responsive web pages
•Create re-usable components and code snippets
•Help diagnose/fix production issues as they arise
•Optimization of browser based applications
•Optimize website for maximum performance, speed and scalability
•Support collaboration across marketing, customer services and engineering teams
•Work with offshore teams as needed and co-ordinate accordingly
Required Skills and Experience •Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field
•3+ years of eCommerce experience working as a front-end developer
•Must have experience in UI/UX design, product design or similar role creating user-centric experiences
•Strong portfolio demonstrating visual and interaction design
Preferred Skills and Experience •Working understanding of front-end security best practices and deploying safe code.
•Experience working in Hybris Commerce preferred
•Experience writing clean and efficient code from scratch
•Familiarity with modern API solutions
•Familiarity with SEO and Web Analytics best practices
•Responsive design experience, including Bootstrap 3 and hand-coded breakpoints
•Knowledge of web analytics and experience implementing and testing tags
•Experience testing and debugging work on multiple browsers & screen sizes
•Developing and successfully launching multiple websites
•DAM integration experience a plus
•Working knowledge of design principles, typography, user interfaces, Web standards and usability
•Familiar with interaction design and information architecture methods and principles
•Experience developing within ADA accessible design standards is a plus
•Knowledge and experience in hand coding HTML email
•Experience of and enthusiasm for working within an Agile environment.
•Familiarity with GIT, Jira, Redmine, or similar project management and issue tracking software
